An Unjust Law
In his letter from the Birmingham Jail, Martin Luther King, Jr. quoted St Thomas Aquinas: An unjust law is a human law that is not rooted in eternal law and natural law. Any law that uplifts human personality is just. Any law that degrades human personality is unjust.
King declared that all segregation statutes are unjust because segregation distorts the soul and damages the personality.
How much more then does abortion accomplish this? It takes the life of an innocent child. It brings damage and distortion not only to the soul and personality of the mother, but to the soul and personality of her family and her nation as well.
Women of our day have many options when it comes to controlling their own bodies and reproduction. They should have a legal right to be fully informed of any and all dangers of their chosen method of birth control. However, once they have exercised their choice in a manner that creates another human life, they should not be allowed to destroy that human being in an effort to correct their mistake.
To promise a woman success through the destruction of her offspring is not justice. It is an evil deceptive illusion. No one should have the "right" to kill another human being. Saving children from being born into poverty by not allowing him/her to be born is usurping the authority of the creator of life. It is man playing god! Man did not create life, his life is a gift from God. Children are a gift from God!
It is against the law of nature and nature's God for a mother to destroy her own child. It is the epitome of child abuse and it adversely affects every area of the mother's life. It devalues life for all of us.
Since 1973 there have been more American lives lost because of legal abortion than all the wars combined.
There is no question, legalized abortion is clearly an unjust law!
The only question is, how long are "WE THE PEOPLE" going to let it continue; And at what cost to ourselves and all future generations?
