Scripture: Let me hear Your loving kindness in the morning; For I trust in You; Teach me the way in which I should walk; For to You I lift up my soul. (Psalm 143: 8)
Morning Devotional: The more we consider the power of God, the less we shall fear the face or force of man. He looks up with earnest desires towards God and his favour. This is the best course we can take, when our spirits are overwhelmed. The believer will not forget, that in his best actions he is a sinner. Meditation and prayer will recover us from distresses; and then the mourning soul strives to return to the Lord as the infant stretches out its hands to the indulgent mother, and thirsts for his consolations as the parched ground for refreshing rain. (Ps 143:7-12, Matthew Henry’s Concise Commentary).
Prayer: Father, we come to you as a little child, very much in need of your love and nurturing. We recognize and confess that in and of ourselves we are unworthy of your mercy and grace. Only because of what Christ did for us through His death, burial and resurrection and our faith in Him do we expect to be recognized as your children. In Him we live and breathe and have our being. Every victory in this life belongs to Jesus Christ. All glory be to His name. Amen.
