Scripture: When my spirit was overwhelmed within me, then thou knewest my path. In the way wherein I walked have they privly
laid a snare for me. I looked on my right hand, and beheld, but there was no man that would know me; refuge failed me; no man cared for my soul. I cried unto thee, O Lord; I said, Thou art my refuge and my portion in the land of the living. (Psalms 142:3-5).
Devotional: It is said that the darkest hour is just before dawn. In the darkest hours of our life when there seems to be no man who cares, Christ is there to shine the light. When we are so overwhelmed by the circumstances of life that we pray for death, Christ is there to breath new life into us again. He knows our path, He knows our needs. He waits to hear us ask Him for the needed help. At the mention of His name He reaches forth His hand to help us when no others will. Some times all the artifical lights have to be turned off before we can see the light Christ. When all the voices of confusion and chaos are shut off
then we can hear His soft whisper within our spirit, calling us to trust and obey. Christ helps us most when we cannot help ourselves. He has promised to never leave us or forsake us. He is faithful to His promise, let us be faithful to trust and obey.
Prayer: Father we do not always understand what you are doing in our lives, but we know that you see our path. We can not see all things and we certainly do not know all things as you do. One thing we know, you are faithful to keep your word. One thing we can do, we can trust that you are working all things for good for those that love you and are called according to your purpose. Today we ask that you increase the faith of your children, lead us on to paths of righteousness for your name's sake. All glory be to the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
